Una mamá Ecuato-Guineana decidió emprender un largo viaje a tierras lejanas.
Ese fue el principio de nuestro cuento infantil africano o Afrocuento. Mi mamá nació en Guinea Ecuatorial, pero muy joven vino a España con una fuerte herencia cultural: El poder mágico con una fuerte herencia cultural: El poder mágico de la palabra y los cuentos africanos.
Nunca olvidamos sus historias, ¿cómo podíamos? En un espacio sin casi referentes culturales dedicados a los afrodescendientes nuestra madre creó un mundo de fantasía y color para nosotras utilizando el cuento africano.
Nuestra mamá nos hizo ver que las princesas o heroínas podían tener el pelo ensortijado y hablar lenguas muy dispares. Ser fuertes, guerreras y valientes como los príncipes.
Descubrimos al torpe leopardo siempre tratando de hacer prevalecer su razón, mediante la fuerza.Nunca olvidamos sus historias, ¿cómo podíamos? Y así fue, como pasado un tiempo, esas niñas crecieron y decidieron despertar la imaginación de otros niños y niñas utilizando los cuentos de la comunidad afrodescendiente de habla hispana y de Guinea Ecuatorial...
Así fue como nació POTOPOTO.
